Jullin O’Scheaur Vocal Studio works with singers of varying ages, levels and musical backgrounds in Classical, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Commercial Music (pop, rock, jazz etc.) Students are accepted into the studio through an interview process. A potential student schedules a meeting time, at which they should be prepared to sing a song of their choice and discuss their musical goals. There is no charge for this meeting.
$65 per hour. Weekly lessons
Lessons vary from 30, 45, and 60-minute intervals depending on the age and level of student.
$75 per hour. Sessions are open to professional and semi-professional level singers only. Sessions are one hour in length and are booked singly. Available as time permits
FEES
Upon registration, payment for the term must be submitted in the form of post-dated cheques, dated the 1st of each month. Returned cheques are subject to a $20 NSF charge. Fees are non-refundable, and non-transferable.MATERIALS & ACCOMPANISTS
Students are responsible to purchase the necessary music books and lesson materials, and to pay recital accompanists directly.MISSED LESSONS & CANCELLATIONS
Lessons are a standing appointment at the same time each week and students are expected to work their schedule around this commitment. If a student must cancel a lesson, 24-hour cancellation notice is required for a makeup a lesson. Cancelled lessons without 24-hour notice are forfeited, except in the case of an extreme illness or emergency*. In this case, a makeup up lesson will be granted. Students missing two consecutive lessons without notice are removed from the studio and charged the full months fees.If a lesson on my behalf must be cancelled, the student will receive one week’s notice and a makeup lesson. Except in the case of an extreme illness or emergency*, a lesson cancellation on my part, in which one weeks’ notice is not possible, will be refunded.
MAKEUP LESSONS
Makeup lessons will be scheduled at a mutually agreed on time and must be completed within 30 days of the missed lesson. It is the student's responsibility to request a makeup lesson within one week's time of the missed lesson. If a request is not made the lesson will be forfeited. Makeup lessons will not be carried over into upcoming terms. (i.e. summer, next fall) Lessons not completed after 30 days of the missed lesson are forfeited.DISCONTINUATION
If a student chooses to discontinue lessons, notification must be given in writing. Students that discontinue before month end will be charged the full months fees. Post-dated cheques and any credit balances are returned to the student upon discontinuation.
*An extreme illness or emergency is that, which are rare cases, such as a death in the family, an injury or illness requiring a visit to the doctor, or a sudden onset of a virus, which causes one to be away from work or school several days. Singers are often required to perform in less than their optimal health, so small health issues such as allergies, a minor sore throat or cold, feeling under the weather, etc. are not reasons to cancel.
