You can learn to sing easily with the right techniques!
Good singers, whatever their style, have the same things in common. They manage their breath well, produce tone freely, move throughout the vocal range easily and communicate their messages clearly. It doesn’t matter if the style is Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre or Classical. Singers that sound good to our ears have these four things in common.
My teaching approach is straightforward, and based on factual physiological knowledge of how the voice works. Students are a wide range of ages, from young children through to mature adults. They have various levels of experience, and musical background, from beginners to professionals, and they sing in the music genre of their choice, from Contemporary Commercial Music (Pop, Rock, R & B etc.), to Musical Theatre and Classical.
Lessons are designed around the musical interests of each student. Some students have very specific ideas of what they want to achieve with vocal lessons, and others don’t really know where to begin. I help students clearly define manageable goals for vocal study, and then provide the framework for them to achieve those goals.

What’s in a vocal lesson?
In vocal lessons, a student works to develop strength and ease of singing through a series of exercises. They learn to distinguish between sounds that indicate easy, well-coordinated singing, and sounds that indicate the opposite. Then students learn to apply this technique and understanding to their repertoire. Like any physical activity, singing requires effort, but it should never be strained and difficult.
